Odisha Public Service Commission informed to the candidates about the Prelims exam of OCS on 6 November 2024. According to the notification, the Orissa civil services Prelims exam is scheduled on 15th December 2024. So candidates can also download OCS Admit card 2024 form the website Before one week of the examination.
The department will conduct prelims examination of the applicants at different centres which are divided into 5 zones including Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur.
Important dates of OPSC OCS Prelims exam 2024
The authority has invented candidates to submit the application form for different post of group A and group B between 17 January to 16 February 2024. after that candidates are preparing for the examination for approximately 1 year and waiting to appear in the OPSC OCS Prelims Exam 2024. The Eligible candidates will get opportunity to work in Administrative services in Odisha with a good salary package of 44900 to 56100 basic pay.
However, after waiting for approximately 1 year, candidates are now inform about the date of prelims exam which is scheduled on 15th December 2024 on Sunday. The exam will be conducted at different centres across the state as per the availability of the centres.
After completing the OPSC OCS prelims examination 2024, Authority will invite candidates to appear in mains exam in 2025 and will finally invite for the interview round accordingly. So it will take approximately 6 to 8 months to complete this OPSC OCS recruitment procedure.
OCS Exam Pattern 2024 for Prelims Exam
The examination of Odisha civil services examination will be conducted into two parts including General studies paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2. Each paper will carry 200 marks where candidates will get one mark for each correct answer. Candidates will wait Total 2 hours for each paper. Where the negative marking of 0.33% will also be followed by the authority.
Candidates will see the objective type questions in the prelims examination of GS paper 1 and GS paper 2 and where they have to mark only the correct answer in OMR sheet. If they mark more than one answer in the OMR then it will be evaluated and wrong answer and will get negative marking. However the Candidate should not mark any answer in the OMR then they will not get negative marking accordingly.

Passing marks of OCS Prelims Exam 2024
Odisha Public Service Commission will not calculate mark of prelims examination in the final merit list. Candidates are only required to achieve At least 33 marks in GS paper 1 and GS paper 2 of prelims examination. Once they qualify in this examination, they will be called for the next mains examination accordingly. So you should only qualify this examination and should not worry about the performance in it as your marks in mains examination will over impact on your selection.
However, the authority will invite only 12x candidates to appear in the mains examination. So if if a higher number of candidate qualified in the Prelims exam, then authority and also introduce category wise cut off marks according to the competition level.
OCS Prelims Admit Card 2024
Candidates are required to carry OPSC OCS admit card 2024 for the prelims examination of OCS 2024. Since the examination is schedule on 15th December, so the authority will release the admit card before 7 to 10 days of the OPSC OCS exam and candidates can check the website from 5 to 7 December accordingly.
Once the authority activate link to download the OPSC OCS 2024 Admit card they can download it by providing application number and date of birth for verification and after that should take up and out of it as only hard copy of the OPSC OCS Prelims admit card 2024 will be accepted in the examination hall.
