OPSC Assistant Industries Officer Syllabus 2025: Odisha public service commission is inviting candidates to participate in the opsc assistant Industries officer recruitment 2025. Candidates who are applying for the recruitment are required to check the retest syllabus of the recruitment which will help them to score good marks in the examination.

OPSC Assistant Industries Officer Syllabus 2025

The department will conduct recruitment examination into two phases including paper 1 and Paper 2 where each of the exam will include objective type questions. Apart from the examination, department will conduct personality test for an interview in the third phase of the recruitment.

Candidates will get OMR sheet to mark correct option of the question and after that their marks will be evaluated accordingly. While the examination is very important for candidates as they will get one mark for every correct answer in paper one and two marks for every correct answer in paper 2 and negative marking of 25% marks will also be followed in this examination. It will affect the overall marking of the candidate.

Assistant Industries officer paper 1 exam pattern 

The paper one is also known as General paper where candidates will see total hundred questions of one mark each in the examination. All these questions are divided into three sections including general English, general reasoning and general knowledge.

Candidates who mark incorrect answers in the examination have to face 0.25 negative marking accordingly. For example if you marked 80 correct answers, but also marked 10 wrong answers then your marks in paper 1 will be (80×1= 80) – (.25×10= 2.5) = 70.5. 

However you will get total 2 hours to complete the examination, so you can take a good time to understand the question and after that can mark it on the OMR accordingly.

The exam pattern of paper 2 

The paper 2 will carry a total 150 objective type questions. Each question in the examination will include 2 marks for every fight answer. Candidates who mark wrong answers in the exam will have to face 0.5 negative marking accordingly.

Apart from the paper 1, questions will be based on the examination from basic engineering. So candidate who have a deep knowledge of their subjects which they studied in graduation will get benefits to revise their syllabus quickly.

So there will be total 400 marks in the written examination of OPSC Assistant Industries Officer recruitment 2024-25 including 100 marks of paper 1 and 300 marks of paper 2. You are required to check the syllabus of the examination in the following section:

Syllabus of paper 1

Paper one have three sections including general English, general awareness and general aptitude where you should check the following points while preparing for the examination:

  • General English: It will include grammar and comprehension where you will see unseen passages and have to answer few questions based on them, after that you need to face grammar related questions including jumble words, spelling errors, tense errors, preposition, adverb etc.
  • General awareness: General awareness is a very vast subject where you need to look out around your circle at globally and should check the latest worldwide events in last one year, Apart from this your required to revise the Indian history, Indian politics, Indian economic system and local history of the Orissa.
  • General aptitude: General aptitude will be divided into 3 sections including Quantitative aptitude where you will see mathematical operations, General mental ability where you will see reasoning questions and other reasoning ability questions.

The paper to will be based on the Engineering topics where you should revise the following units which will help you to understand the exam questions and after that can mark the correct answer:

  • C & Data structure : Applicants are required to revise the C language structure, algorithm, Input and output statements, Control structure, etc.

  • Basic Manufacturing Processes: focuses on the techniques used to create objects from raw materials. It covers essential machinery like lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines, explaining their components and applications. You’ll also learn about the foundry process, which involves casting molten metal into molds to create specific shapes. The unit explores different welding methods, such as gas welding, arc welding, TIG, MIG, and resistance welding, each with its own advantages and applications in joining metal components. 
  • Here’s a breakdown of Unit 4: Basic Electrical Engineering in a very short paragraph:
  • Basic Electrical Engineering: focuses on electrical circuits, covering both DC and AC systems. You’ll learn about how to analyze circuits using different methods, calculate electrical quantities, and understand the principles of transformers and motors.

It explores foundations, including bearing capacity and soil properties. The unit also delves into the properties of various construction materials like stone, concrete, and steel. Additionally, it covers conventional water treatment processes, including screening, sedimentation, and disinfection. 
  • Here’s a breakdown of Unit 7: Environmental Engineering and Unit 8: Quality Management in two short paragraphs:
  • environmental pollution: air pollution, including its causes, types, and effects. You’ll learn about how weather conditions influence air pollution levels, the formation of smog, and methods to control particulate emissions. The unit also covers water pollution, including its sources, impacts on aquatic life and human health, and remedial measures. Finally, it addresses noise pollution, its types, effects, and control methods.
  • quality management: the philosophy of quality management, the economic aspects of quality, and various quality improvement approaches such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, and Kaizen. You’ll learn about quality function deployment, which focuses on understanding customer needs and translating them into product design. The unit also covers techniques like Zero Defects, Poka-Yoke (mistake-proofing), and Taguchi methods for improving product and process quality.
