It offers instructions on when candidates should send the National Visa Centre the necessary paperwork. The priority dates for every category in the January bulletin’s Dates for Filing Chart are the same as those from the month before.

However, the Final Action Dates do show some progress in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories for certain countries and categories. There are no changes for the majority of countries, including China and India, in the EB-1 category, which covers first-priority workers like multinational CEOs and people with exceptional abilities. Significant progress has been made in the EB-2 category.

Reports from USCIS and the Department of State

According to USCIS and the Department of State, more people are submitting their applications in the EB-5 set-aside categories, and more I-526E petitions are being approved. Important updates for EB-5 investors are highlighted in the January 2025 Visa Bulletin, which also warns of possible backlogs in the Rural and High-Unemployment Area (HUA) set-aside categories.

Although these categories are still in use today, the growing demand for EB-5 visas raises the possibility of future delays. Larger EB-5 investor groups, like those from China and India, have historically been affected by visa retrogression, which occurs when demand for visas exceeds supply. But as interest in rural and HUA projects grows, these difficulties might soon also affect foreign investors.
