Festivals on weekends 2025

If a festival falls on weekends, then it provides extra time to the individuals to celebrate their festivals with enjoyment. However, festivals have the gazetted holiday, so employees and students both want to have festivals on a working day so they can get extra holiday accordingly. But there are approximately 6 events or festivals which are going to be observed on weekends either Saturday or Sunday. 

  • The Republic Day 2025 is going to observe on Sunday 26 Jan, So students may have invited in a school on Sunday too to participate in republic day activities,
  • The Eid ul Fitr is Likely to observe on Monday, 31st March 2025, but as per the rotation and movement of the Moon, it may also for on Sunday 30 March 2025.
  • Ramnavami is also falling on Sunday on 6 April 2025 where devotees will get holiday to perform religious activities accordingly.
  • 6 Jult 2025 is also falling on Sunday where the Muharram event will be observed and the gazetted holiday will be announced country wide.
  • Eid ul Zuha which is also known as Bakra Eid is likely to fall on Saturday 7 June 2025. However it will also be decided according into the rotation of the Moon and can be adjusted for one day earlier accordingly.
  • Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 9 August 2025 in upcoming year and Janmashtami is also going to be celebrated on Saturday 16 August 2025.

Full Week Holidays in 2025

Employees are looking to check any chances to get a complete week holiday in 2025. However there is no exact weekly holiday or events schedule in the upcoming year. But you can follow you calculations to get approximately 3 to 4 days of legal holidays without any paid leaves. 

  • 4 days holiday in March 2025: Holi is one of the biggest festivals which is going to be observed on 14 March 2025 on Friday. However schools and offices celebrates holi on holika dehan which is falling on 13 march, Thursday. Most of the companies will declare a complete holiday while few fill only conduct a little function. march 15, and 16 are falling on Saturday and sunday. It may provide approx. 4 day relax.
  • 3 Days holiday in August 2025: Independence Day is falling on Friday 15 August 2025 and Janmashtami will be celebrated on the next day on 16 August on Saturday 2025. So you will get a 3 days holiday including Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August accordingly.

October is the festival king 

October truly lives up to its title as the “Festival King” in India. October 2nd with Dussehra, which marks the victory of good over evil. Gandhi Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, is also celebrated on October 2nd. Diwali, the dazzling festival of lights, illuminates the month on October 20th.

Govardhan Puja, honoring Lord Krishna, follows on October 22nd, and Bhai Dooj, celebrating sibling bonds, takes place on October 23rd.
