CUET-UG 2025: Return to CBT test
University Grant Commission had conducted CUET UG exam 2024 in hybrid Mod including OMR based as well as CBT mode. However, the chairman of UGC has informed that Commission will conduct the upcoming CUET-UG 2025 exam in fully CBT mode to make it more easier for students as well as the Commission.
According to the chairman, the CBT exam is more reliable than other modes of the examinations. So now candidates are required to familiar with computer operation to mark correct answers in the examination hall.

Reduce number of papers to 37
UGC was accepting application forms for CUET UG examination for 63 papers to provide admission in different courses. But now the number of courses papers has reduced from 63 to 37. It will easy for students to apply in the specific course where they are going to take admission. However rest of the papers will be evaluated according to Escorts in general aptitude test- GAT.
Reduce language tests
Authority will conduct CUET-UG 2025 examination in total 13 languages were candidate can switch any language according to their suitability and after that can submit their response accordingly. However the authority is conducting the CUET UG exam in 33 languages. But now question paper will not be translated in rest 20 languages. So candidate will see their question paper in the following languages Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Mayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Reduce domain specific subjects
Candidates are required to opt a few main domain specific subjects related to the course where they want to get admission in UG. Currently the authority was conducting CUET UG exam for a maximum 29 domain specific subjects but now 6 subjects has been reduced in this list and candidates have to select any of the domain specific subjects among 23.
So candidates will not see Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies and Engineering Graphics subjects in upcoming CUET UG application form for 2025.
Increase the CUET-UG 2025 exam duration
The authority is conducting the CUET-UG 2025 for different time durations according to the subject for domain specific subject where you are going to apply. The range of the exam direction is between 45 minutes to 60 minutes accordingly. But now after discussion in the committee, it is Decided to conduct the CUET-UG 2025 Examination for 60 minutes for all subjects. So it will bring similarity and easy for students to appear in the examination. Apart from the CUET UG exam, the exam duration for CUET PG in 2025 has reduced from 105 minutes to 90 minutes.
All questions are compulsory
UGC was preparing the question paper with the combination of compulsory as well as optional questions where candidates have freedom to attend optional questions or not. But now they are changing this pattern and making compulsory all the questions in the examination. So it will help to maintain the Standards of difficulty level of the examination.
