Harvard Kennedy School Carr Center Fellowship 2025-26: The Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School is excited to announce that applications for the 2025-2026 Fellowship are currently accepting applications. Emerging and seasoned academics, practitioners, and human rights leaders are invited to join an intellectual community committed to advancing human rights through research, scholarship, and practice through this special one-year fellowship.The affiliation provided by the Carr Center Fellowship helps fellows advance their writing, research, and intellectual cooperation.
Fellows interact with Harvard academics, have access to educational materials, and can even facilitate study sessions for students. This fellowship offers the chance to join a thriving community where fellows work alongside people who share their commitment to human rights. The fellowship is mainly non-residential, though there might be some shared office space available for those who would like to live in Cambridge.
Goals of the Racial Justice Program
- Reimagining organizations, movements, and systems to advance racial and economic equity for all is the main goal of the Racial Justice Program.
- The program fosters collaboration among faculty, fellows, students, and the larger University community while fortifying the conversation linking domestic civil rights to international human rights frameworks.
- In order to create a research project that is relevant to their own areas of expertise and the Centres research priorities, we aim to draw in a diverse group of fellows from various fields and industries, including academia, business, technology, civil society, human rights organizations, public interest technologists, and independent researchers and practitioners.
- Fellows are required to take part in recurring Zoom calls with Carr Center faculty and other experts and are encouraged to work together.
- The Carr Center will publish and promote fellows papers, and more applied or practical projects will be shown to a variety of experts who will provide comments and suggestions for improvement.
Required Eligibility
- Human rights advocates, post-doctoral researchers, scholars, sabbatical academics, heads of human rights organizations, and senior executives in multinational corporations are among the fellows.
- The Center’s programming and research priorities need to align closely with those of other projects.
- Scholars and practitioners who align their research and practice with the Center’s priorities are welcome, regardless of their level of experience.
- At the Harvard Kennedy School, fellows can concentrate on writing and research, auditing classes, interacting with faculty and other experts, facilitating student study groups, and taking part in other educational activities.
Stipend Amount
For the academic session 2025-26, Racial Justice Fellows will receive a fellowship stipend of $10,000.
