Union Minister JP Nadda reassured that, the ICMR, the Ministry of Health, and the National Centre for Disease Control are “deeply monitoring the condition in China and other neighbouring countries” in view of recent reports of increasing HMPV cases.“WHO has noted the situation and will send us a report shortly.

No increase in any of the common respiratory viral pathogens has been seen in India, based on an analysis of national respiratory virus data from the ICMR and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program,” he stated.
