Two Super Scoopers to fight on-going wildfires
According to The Washington Post, the Los Angeles County Fire Department has sent out two Super Scoopers to fight on-going wildfires and is scheduled to receive two more planes and staff from Canada. As they cooperate to put out the fires, these aircraft are actually a part of a larger fleet that also consists of air tankers and helicopters.The Super Scooper can actually carry much heavier loads than the helicopters with buckets, and it can refill its water supply without landing, enabling it to continue operating until its fuel runs out, according to The Washington Post.
